What could have been done to prevent Michael from suffering from cancer? I wish to provide a lot of the information that I have acquired, since my son's diagnosis, through this site. I offer this information as information only. I am not a doctor nor will I recommend any course of action that you may decide to take. The only way to prevent it is to educate yourself and make lifestyle choices. 100 years ago the incidence of cancer was 1 in 100. Today it is 1 in 3. Don't rely on Medical statements about cancer. Don't believe for one minute that any government will ever take pre emptive action about carcinogens known to cause cancer. It has been quoted that it takes 30 days to have a chemical approved and 30 years to have it removed once it has been proven to be toxic. And that will only happen after an irrefutable number of people have died from this carcinogen. I, as a father, carry a tremendous burden of both guilt and anger. I feel guilt for my personal sense of failure in being unable to save my son's life. I feel anger about the knowledge I have acquired about the medical system that we are led to believe is the best available and the many possible causes of cancer that have been introduced into our environment, our food, our water, cosmetics etc. BE WARNED: The medical industry is more interested in protecting itself and profits. The AMA is a trade union with monopolistic control over the industry and controls everything that a doctor is allowed to practice. This is especially so for the CANCER industry. If a doctor were to step outside "Approved" medical practice they can have their licence to practice medicine revoked. Please be advised that "Approved" medical practice doesn't necessarily mean that it actually works or is the best medicine available. My mother had a kidney removed in 1974 at the age of 35 and a subsequent hysterectomy in 1975. She was then placed on HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) which was then "Approved". HRT is now accepted as a cause of cancer. My mother was diagnosed with cancer in 1992 and as a result endured 10 surgeries in five years and eventually died of a heart attack in 1997. Statistically my mother was CURED of cancer as she SURVIVED over 5 years and died of something other than cancer. Michael had a friend who was diagnosed with Leukemia around the same time as his diagnosis and died of a heart attack about 4 months into treatment. A 16 year old having a heart attack is pretty rare. Could it have been induced by the chemotherapy he was being treated with? People who suffer from cancer and die are always referred to as having died from the cancer or from some organ failure like kidney failure, liver failure, heart failure etc. It is never stated what caused these organ failures. AND OUR GOVERNMENT CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO PROTECT YOU. It looks at everything through an economic prism which breaks everyday life and death into economic equations of cost/benefit and economic interest. In an episode of the British comedy "Yes Prime Minister" the Prime Minister is in a battle with Sir Humphrey regarding the possible banning of cigarette smoking because of the outrageous cost in human life and the burden on the Health Care System. Sir Humphrey comes back with the argument that the Government relies on cigarette smoking to provide billions of dollars in taxation and "if fewer people die from lung cancer, from not smoking, they will actually be a bigger burden on the government and it's budget as, by living longer, they will inevitably still be a burden on the health system as age related ailments will still see them in the hospital system. But, more importantly, as they grow older, they will be a burden on the budget as they all start drawing the old age pension. Sir Humphrey concludes that, economically, it is better that people continue to die at the current rate." I used to find this episode funny. Now I am angry as I realise that my son has fallen into this category.
